It took me 5 years of yearning and a hands-on review to finally say that I am a proud owner of a Rolex GMT-Master II BLNR. Not sure why I waited so long to actually add one to my collection, but I am glad that I finally did.
My very first Rolex sport model was also a GMT-Master II, but the 116710LN, which I bought in 2009. I still remember what led me to purchase the GMT-Master II instead of a Submariner... it was the sexy bold numbers on the bezel, extra GMT function, and polished center links. It was the perfect Rolex GMT watch… until the BLNR was released. At the time however, I was venturing with other brands and in 2014 I made the ultimate sacrifice and said goodbye to my 116710LN to make funds for a new purchase. It would then take me four years before I finally welcome another Rolex into my collection.
The presentation box is simple but beautiful.
I have reviewed several watches here on my website and the BLNR remains one of the highest rated watches. It is also a favorite amongst Rolex aficionados... easy to see why!
I will not repeat the same mistake I made back in 2014… this “Batman” is here to stay for good. The truth is, Rolex is still King.
