Last November, Linde Werdelin and Jewells at Galpin hosted an exclusive event for #LAWatchGang at the Galpin Aston Martin dealership in Van Nuys. Many Linde Werdelin models were on display and attendees were able to get a close look at them without the pressure of a salesperson. Overall, an amazing night full of fantastic watches, beautiful cars, and great company.

The event was held inside their beautiful Aston Martin safe, featuring a jaw-dropping white Vantage that night. But the star of the night was Linde Werdelin… their watches are quite impressive and bold to say the least. I have always been a fan of their designs, but I had never actually held one before. These watches make a statement on the wrist and are definitely not for the shy. Quality seems to be top notch and in terms of aesthetics they certainly hit all the right spots for me.
My choice for that night, the Rolex GMT-Master II.

The Linde Werdelin collection is composed of two main collections, Spido and Oktopus. Both collections feature a similar case design, which has now become part of their signature look. Personally, I love the case… it is different, recognizable, and beautiful. They actually wear well on the wrist too, despite the larger size. My only complaint would be regarding the length of the standard straps that comes with these watches, too long for my 6.5” wrist. Even on the very first hole the watch is too loose. Fortunately, Linde Werdelin does offer some straps in a shorter length that should solve this problem. Finally, I enjoy the fact that Linde Werdelin is not afraid of using daring colors on their watches. Not for everyone, but definitely for me :-).

Hands down my favorite watch from Linde Werdelin right now is probably the Oktopus Moon Tattoo featured below. The moon phase at 6 o’ clock, the rose gold case, the black ceramic bezel, and that insane engraved art on the case!!! So much to love about this watch…

All that drooling made us hungry… and there were more Aston Martins on the outside for us to enjoy as well.

I also discovered Jewells at Galpin Premier that night, a small authorized dealer for several less common brands. Brands they carry include Linde Werdelin, Snyper, Dietrich, Bremont, Artya, B.R.M., Romain Jerome, Ressence, and a few others. A luxury watch retailer inside a luxury car dealership… why the hell not? Waiting at the dealer for that oil change does not sound so bad anymore uh? While taking a small break from Linde Werdelin, I was also able to play with a few Dietrich and Snyper watches. I was pleasantly surprised with how much I liked both brands after trying them on, definitely good contenders for people looking for something different and uncommon.

Earlier this month I had the honor to attend the very exclusive Officine Panerai Dive Into Time VIP event in Beverly Hills. I had the pleasure to talk and dine with Giovanni Carestia (President of Panerai North America), Alessandro Ficarelli (Product Development Director), and several others from the Panerai team. And as if that was not awesome enough, we also had the chance to view and play with some newly released Panerai models. Needless to say, it was one heck of a night and one worth sharing with the rest of the watch community.
